What will therapy be like?

An initial consultation will take three to four hours. During the consultation the homeopath will take detailed notes of your presenting symptoms, your medical history and your family medical history. Your history from birth will be reviewed to determine mental, emotional, and physical experiences and symptomology that has led up to what you are experiencing. Your homeopath will also ask many questions which you may feel are unrelated to your problem. However, this information is very important in helping the homeopath to choose the correct remedy for you.

After the initial consultation your homeopath will determine the starting point for your individual care and provide you with the first remedy dose.

Remedies are usually in the form of a liquid, which should be taken by mouth just before going to bed. Nothing should be taken in the mouth for ten minutes before or after a homeopathic remedy.

Other treatments, including dental treatment, may affect your homeopathic treatment. It is important not to take any additional medication (including homeopathic remedies) without first talking to your homeopath.

Certified Homeopaths work according to a strict code of ethics. Anything you say will be treated in the strictest confidence. All documents required by the California Health Freedom Act and Federal HIPPA Right to Privacy Act are provided upon scheduling an appointment.

How long will it take?

This will depend on your symptoms and the length of time you have had your illness. For example, complaints which have developed very slowly over a number of years will not disappear overnight, but other more recent complaints can get better quickly. Sometimes, changes in the client's condition can be dramatic or at times, so subtle that the person living with them from day to day cannot see the progress. Homeopaths have the skill to assess the response to a remedy and this is an essential part of the ongoing treatment.

In Homeopathy we see the life force heal from the inside out, from the mental level, to the emotional level, to the physical level. It is not uncommon for a remedy to act on all three levels from a single dose. At the physical level healing occurs from the most important levels to the least important i.e. heart and brain 1st and then outwardly thru less important organs to the skin. Since Homeopathy allows the body to heal from the inside, often outer symptoms such as skin complaints are the last to clear. Be patient. In the long term it is much better for you to recover from both the cause of your illness and its symptoms, rather than merely relieving or suppressing the symptoms.
